A Simple, Non-Toxic Swap for a Healthier Home
If you’re working toward a low-tox lifestyle, your cleaning products are one of the easiest and most impactful places to start.
Many conventional cleaners contain synthetic fragrances, harsh solvents, and ingredients that require heavy ventilation. And when you have children, pets, or a sensitive nervous system, that chemical cloud matters.
The good news? Making your own multi-purpose cleaner couldn’t be easier.
This simple, homemade solution works beautifully in bathrooms, kitchens, on windows, and even on kids’ toys. It’s effective, affordable, and gives you full control over what’s inside the bottle.
Why I Love This Homemade Cleaner
Simple ingredients you recognize
No synthetic fragrance
Budget-friendly
Safe to use while kids are nearby
Supports a calmer, cleaner home environment
It’s one of those small swaps that makes a big difference over time.
Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 cups of Distilled water
• 1/4 cup of white vinegar
• 2 tbs of Dr Bronner's Sal Suds or Doterra’s OnGuard Cleaning Concentrate
• 15 drops of Orange or Lemon essential Oil
• 15 drops of Eucalyptus essential Oil
Note - if you don’t have essential oil, use the peel of 1 Orange or one lemon
Instructions:
• Add all ingredients to a 16 oz glass spray bottle.
• Gently shake to combine before each use.
Where to Use It
This cleaner works well on:
Bathroom sinks and counters
Kitchen surfaces
Glass and mirrors
High chairs
Sealed countertops
Kids’ plastic toys
Avoid use on natural stone (like marble or granite), as vinegar can dull the finish.
Safe enough for little hands, strong enough for real life.

Clean home. Clear energy.
